NEW BMW 5 SERIES SALOON

The new BMW 5 Series Saloon is more dynamic than ever and features numerous digital innovations. In addition, it will be available with fully electric power for the first time.

The new saloon, the BMW i5, leads the way towards sustainable premium mobility in the upper-medium vehicle segment. Some of the features reflecting the progress made in the fields shaping the future of the BMW Group include its consistent electrification, the advanced BMW iDrive display and control system with QuickSelect, new digital services and increased sustainability throughout the product life cycle.

The market launch of the new BMW 5 Series Saloon will begin in October 2023. The new-generation model will be offered worldwide with fully electric power and, depending on the region, will also be available with plug-in hybrid systems, as well as highly efficient petrol and diesel engines.

Sporty elegance and an impressive presence with a new design language

Compared with the previous BMW 5 Series Saloon model, the new edition is longer, wider and taller. Its design accentuates the sporty elegance and presence of the new 5 Series Saloon.

The front end of the new BMW 5 Series Saloon offers a modern interpretation of BMW’s twin headlights and kidney grille. The side view shapes the vehicle’s athletic body through its raised shoulder line, powerfully designed surfaces and two precisely drawn character lines.

The dynamic character of the new BMW 5 Series Saloon can be enhanced further with the optional M Sport package and M Sport Pro package. The paint range already includes three BMW Individual paint finishes at market launch.

In addition, one notable new feature of the new BMW 5 Series Saloon is that it is the brand’s first model to feature a fully vegan interior as standard. For the first time, this includes the seat surfaces, dashboard and door panels, as well as the steering wheel.

Driving pleasure and travel comfort combined with innovative styling

The new BMW 5 Series offers ideal conditions for enjoying the driving pleasure that is so characteristic of BMW in everyday traffic, together with a high level of comfort on long-distance journeys. It combines generous space, modern functionality, high acoustic comfort, high-quality materials crafted with precision, fine finishes and advanced digital services.

Through the consistent digitalisation of its functions, this new edition has significantly fewer buttons and controls. Highlights include its large driver-focused curved display, redesigned steering wheel and standard Interaction Bar.

As for charging the BMW i5, its Combined Charging Unit enables AC charging at up to 11 kW as standard for the BMW i5 eDrive 40 and up to 22 kW for the BMW i5 M60 xDrive. The battery can be charged with DC power at up to 205 kW. The battery charge level of the BMW i5, for example, can increase from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes.

The new BMW 5 Series Saloon features top-level technological equipment, including driving assistance systems such as Driving Assistant Professional, which enables semi-automated driving in certain situations. It also features systems such as Parking Assistant Plus, which facilitates parking manoeuvres; Reversing Assistant, which reproduces the last metres travelled in reverse; and Remote Software Upgrade, which allows the vehicle’s software to be updated via a mobile phone.

The market launch of the new BMW 5 Series Saloon marks the beginning of a new chapter in the field of customer experience.
