On 8 February 2025, members of the BMW Motorrad Club Catalunya enjoyed an exceptional day combining a passion for motorbikes with Catalan gastronomic tradition: the calçotada.
Setting Off
The day began at 9:30 am at Buffet d’Altafulla, where participants met to share a coffee and prepare their motorbikes before setting off. Excitement and camaraderie filled the air as the engines started up and the ride got under way.
Scenic Route
The route, designed by club member and route leader Joan Olivé, took the motorcyclists along some of the most picturesque roads in the Tarragona region. During the journey, they made a strategic stop to rest and enjoy the views and mountain surroundings, strengthening the bonds between participants and sharing anecdotes and laughter.
The Calçotada in Perafort
The final destination was the municipality of Perafort, where a traditional calçotada awaited them at Ca Vidal restaurant. The motorcyclists enjoyed calçots with romesco sauce, grilled meats served with fesols, artichokes, tomato and patata al caliu, followed by typical desserts such as crema catalana and orange with sugar. Everything was accompanied by wine, cava, water, coffee and liqueurs, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and good humour.
