BMW Motorrad presents the ConnectedRide Cradle

Use your smartphone conveniently as a navigation system and universal companion for your motorcycle.

For motorcyclists who like to use their smartphone for map navigation, BMW Motorrad now offers the ConnectedRide Cradle mount.

The ConnectedRide Cradle is not merely a simple mount for conveniently using your smartphone as a sat-nav while riding. The navigation map and vehicle data, such as lean angle, acceleration, deceleration and much more, can also be displayed through the BMW Motorrad Connected App using the Multi-Controller.

Thanks to its individually adjustable side clamps, the ConnectedRide Cradle is suitable for many different smartphone sizes and charges the smartphone wirelessly according to the Qi standard at up to 7.5 W, or via cable through a USB-C connection at up to 7.5 W (1.5 A at 5 V). An LED charging indicator, which can be switched off, provides information about the phone's charging status.

For safety, the ConnectedRide Cradle can be secured to the motorcycle mount, where supported.

The ConnectedRide Cradle can also be used on older BMW Motorrad models, such as the BMW R 1200 GS K50, and is compatible with all BMW Motorrad models equipped with the optional «Preparation for navigation system (option 272)», as well as models equipped with the Multi-Controller and the option to retrofit the navigation preparation via the BMW Motorrad workshop system (except R 1200 RT, R 1250 RT and K 1600 models). On older motorcycles without a TFT instrument cluster, it can be operated via the control element of the «Navigation unit preparation SA 272». The prerequisite for displaying vehicle data is the «On-board computer Pro (option 221)».

The ConnectedRide Cradle cannot be used with the Navigator 4-Button Mount Cradle.

To use all the functions described, BMW Motorrad Connected App version 4.0 or later is required. BMW Motorrad recommends always installing the latest updates to ensure correct operation.

A Bluetooth connection is required to control the app via the motorcycle's navigation preparation control element. To meet the security requirements (LE Secure Connections), the smartphone must be equipped with at least Bluetooth Low Energy version 4.2 for the connection. Smartphones with older Bluetooth versions are therefore not compatible.

Bluetooth pairing is carried out in the BMW Motorrad Connected App and only needs to be completed once during the initial set-up.
